Last night I went to the Evening Standard mayoral debate with Boris Johnson. It was a really passionate affair, and I thought Boris performed particularly well. He was extremely agreeable, had some great ideas for London and was specifically great when questioned about his racial views. It is increasingly aware that Ken Livingstone has abused his position of authority and London isn’t particularly a great city right now, so Boris offers a great alternative…a charismatic individual who strikes a cord with the public.

  1. Running on a liberal mandate, Brian Paddick is the kind of Mayor that London needs, not a conservative and calamatious blond whose constant gaffes, whilst maybe not intentionally, do cause many people in this cosmopolitan metropolis deep offence

I’ll tell you what though. I and many other Londonders (born and bred I may add) will have a smile ‘like a watermelon’ when Boris is sent packing on his rusty old routemaster back to Henley

  2. I prefer he sticks to journalism. Although I disagree with about half of what he says, I still think he is a very readable journalist.
