Well done Boris Johnson for running for mayor. It is a wise move and I think the public will really get behind his campaign. Even if you are the type of person who will end up voting for Ken again, I hope you all agree with me that at least now we have a political heavyweight as an alternative. London should have an interesting year ahead!
Regarding the news, I’m personally really pleased because his running falls in direct line with the ethos of my blog…the ongoing battle against political correctness. If you too are interested in backing Boris, please join the Facebook group set up by Guido Fawkes, a prominent political blogger, or this one created by Toby Young. Or if you want to be even more proactive go here.
Political parties are often accused of not listening to the public, so I think the development of the Stand Up Speak Up website has been a shrewd move by DC and his clan. On the site you can view the party’s policies, as well as vote and debate on them. Cynics will probably say that people are disengaged with politics and therefore won’t visit the site. Well, it seems like the site has already received some traction and at least the Tories are making an effort. I’m sure we will see a lot more of this type of thing going forward, from all political parties. In fact the Conservatives already have another project on the way.
Also, apparently terrorism is flawed as a concept. Not exactly headline news, but fascinating nonetheless.
