Daniel Craig is a South African Jew in Munich. Great film, bizarre casting.

Blogger says knock you out

Via the Bloggies 2006 I’ve found a great little blog called Lifehacker.

Blogs have really started to develop over the last twelve months, to the point that some sites are on a par with conventional media in terms of both influence and design. The PR industry is really starting to take note of blogs - I personally feel that there will soon be an argument for PR professionals whose job it is to actually focus on such sites. I also have no doubt that other industries will also feel the force of the blogosphere.

I subscribe to Time Out and have always been impressed with its Tube Gossip column. I’ve managed to chase down the website from which the content is lifted off, have a look.

Also have a look at its mothersite: TheManWhoFellaSleep.com

Sven was dumb, the media was dumber

This whole Sven-Goran Eriksson situation is a complete disgrace and reflects very badly on the media. Why does it always try and ruin the chances that England might have to win an international football tournament? Each time we get close to a tournament, the revelations are revealed and the dirt is exposed, and surprise surprise the team ends up being a disappointment.

Our two most notable sporting achievements in recent years have undoubtedly been the Rugby World Cup and Ashes Cricket successes and I seem to remember that in the build up to these the media was highly supportive. Why not take the same tactic with the football? Perhaps we will see a result that we realistically deserve.

Stockholm, a great place to visit

This weekend I took a short break to the capital of Sweden, Stockholm. If you are like me and you suffer from post Christmas blues, then why not shoot off to the lovely city for a short break. A trip at this time of the year is very cheap - you can get a flight for around £50 return and semi-decentaccommodationn in the centre of Town will set you back around £100 a night for a twin room. Some say that food and drink is expensive, but I didn’t think it was much more than London if you know where to go.

There is plenty to see and do, just remember to wrap up warm! Have a look at Visit Stockholm for details. Also I took some snaps that you might want to look at.

Best to keep it legal innit

Labour is planning a law to permit legal brothels. I’m unsure whether this is a good thing, basically I can’t stop thinking ‘is there not another way’ to make women safer. I personally think that the Government is pushing forward such plans because it is trying to hide the fact that its actual drugs policies (that are related) are failing.

One good thing that might come out of it is cheaper and safer paid-for sex. I guess it will be quite successful for all those stag nights then.

The evidence is there

The big booboo by Ruth Kelly to allow sex offenders work within the English school system is further evidence that the bureaucratic machine of New Labour is losing its grip on society. Although she has now said that she will tighten the law, it is too late for her reputation as a politian. First Blunkett, now Kelly, Blair’s closest allies are all making great errors of judgment…it is great to see.
