The BBC has put together an interesting story and forum about our country’s boozing culture. It makes some quite interesting reading, have a look.
Last night I went to see Ian Brown at the Brixton Academy. He is a living legend and one of the greatest British front men ever. He had great control over the crowd and treated us to both his solo and Stone Roses classics. It was indeed a treat to see an artist that I’ve wanted to see for a while. I suggest you purchase his back catalogue (solo & Stone Roses).
How great is this video?! An absolute classic.
I saw year four of Harry Potter last night. It was an OK film, although I don’t really understand why there is so much fuss about J K Rowling’s series. I understand that the books are meant to be better than the films, I read the first two and admittedly they were better than the movies. However, I feel asleep watching the first two films and kept yawning during the second two - I don’t really think that these are good signs.
My problem with the Potter series is that they are too try hard. In each film they create new characters, new scenarios and new beasts to shock, but I get a sense of monotony. These films and books don’t have the plot building that both Lord of the Rings and Narnia have. Also with the exception of the teachers, the characters aren’t as legendary either.
Another problem is that Daniel Radcliffe can’t act and lacks any charisma. He is upstaged by all those around him and has grown into a pasty Gollum-like character since the first film. Am I wrong in thinking that this person is meant to turn into this good-looking hero individual? If so he is a bit off the pace at the moment.
However there is one good sign showing that this series might redeem itself. The introduction of Ralph Fiennes as Voldemort is a genius stroke and shows promise for the next few films, as he is genuinely scary. Let’s just hope that Harry’s VIP status begins to show, after all the next film will actually be the fifth in the series!
You may or may not know but the World Wide Web has been celebrating its 15-year birthday this week. Congratulations Tim Berners-Lee and your creation! The Rosemont Loving is always one for celebrations so this evening I will drink a glass or two in honour. As further a celebration please feel free to list some of the websites that you have found most useful and enjoyable.
No doubt someone will be really original and list loads of porn sites, lowering the reading age of this site to twelve.

No I’m not talking about David Blunkett, but Mr Blair. How can someone with such a bad judge of character, or of WMDs for that matter, continue to remain in power. What should Tony do? Should he resign now and give Gordon Brown a chance to develop his own party? Obviously he won’t do that and this is a good thing as it makes it all a little bit more interesting. Let’s just hope Tony doesn’t make too many of his famous reforms.
